| Course outline : The qualification will contribute to the candidate’s skills, knowledge and understanding of best practice and national standards for adult teaching. The unit is taught as a stand-alone qualification to achieve the PTLLS and also forms one of the units in the higher level qualification, the Certificate in Teaching in Lifelong Learning. Progression can be to full Qualified Tutor Status (QTS) for those that are seeking a full time career in adult tutoring. This is a one unit qualification comprising of the following sections:
Assessment and Achievement Each of the 5 sections above will be assessed within the three assignments which comprise seven tasks (per assignment). To achieve the qualification candidates must successfully complete the theory assignment and the practical assignment. Micro-teaching; An important element of completing the course will be delivering a 30 minute micro-teach. More Course information including learning outcomes and assignments can be found here.
