Managing Performance, Capability and Conduct Issues
Course outline :

Do have concerns about how to tackle people problems? 

This workshop will provide the tools to address potentially sensitive issues in a professional, legal and effective way.

At the end of the course, delegates will:

  • Be aware of how their individual communication style can help/hinder difficult situations.
  • Understand the role of informal and formal practices relating to managing performance, capability and conduct.
  • Be able to take a diagnostic approach to reviewing internal systems for performance management (including capability due to illness).
  • Have an awareness of the legal and best practice implications and how to avoid potential pitfalls

Organisations should make every effort to actively manage performance, capability and conduct in a way which is ideally highly effective, and which certainly meets best practice and legal requirements.   There is significant risk and cost attached to getting it wrong should an employee make an application to an Employment Tribunal.
