Cultural Awareness Day

Novas Scarman are pleased to be hosting a Cultural Awareness Day for Volunteers and voluntary organisations from across Somerset.

Tuesday 30 March 2010

10.00 am – 4.00 pm

Tor Leisure Centre, Glastonbury

This will be an exciting opportunity to meet with other organisations and discover what choices and resources there are within our area.

Novas would like to encourage you to be part of this unique event and come along not only to enjoy the day, but also to promote your own associations to the attendees.

The aim of the day is for you to discover the issues faced by minorities in our society and what provision is out there for you to tap into.

Topics covered will include:

  • The Travellers culture,
  • Eastern Europe and the problems faced by migrant workers,
  • Domestic abuse issues in same sex relationships.

The ‘Market Place’ area will be a chance to find out what services and voluntary groups there are and how to become involved with them.  This is a unique chance to share information, gain knowledge and network.

Novas are offering the option of showcasing your organisation.  If you would like space in the “Market Place” then please contact :
