PTLLS, QTLLS and CTLLS
Somerset Skills & Learning offer training opportunities for those already involved in teaching or training, and those considering this area of work.
Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning (PTLLS): This award has been designed to provide either pre-service or in-service (induction) training, with approximately thirty hours of guided learning and an additional thirty of self directed study.
This Award provides a first step training programme to enable those with little or no experience to explore the basics involved in teaching and learning. It is also an opportunity for those with experience of teaching or training to demonstrate existing levels of skills, knowledge and understanding, as the first step towards fully qualified status in the lifelong learning sector (QTLLS).
As an introductory award this course will not qualify participants as tutors, but gives a licence to practice, leading on to the first level Certificate (CTLLS), which is the minimum teaching qualification for the Associate Teacher role, as defined within the new national Teaching Qualification Framework. PTLLS are being offered in Wells, Taunton, Williton and CTLLS at Burnham-On-Sea.
