Face to Face and Side by Side

faithnetsouthwest invites you to the South West launch of 

Face to Face and Side by Side – a framework for partnership in our multi faith society
 on Monday 10th November, 11:00am till 3:00pm

at Taunton Rugby Club ,Hyde Park, Hyde Lane, Taunton.Somerset,TA2 8BU

 This Conference is for

  • faith groups wanting to work together to build understanding
  • those wishing to work together to make better communities
  • those interested in working with their local council or with the voluntary sector on community projects
  • Local Authorities concerned to engage the faith communities in their area to increase participation and support for community service delivery
  • Voluntary and Community Sector bodies who want to engage with faith groups
  • anyone who believes that faith groups can make a difference in strengthening community life

 Speakers include

  • Mgr John Devine – Churches’ Regional Office for the North West
  • David Rayner – Cohesion and Faiths Division, Department for Communities and Local Government
  • Dave Duggan – Government Office for the South West
  • Jonathan Marshall – Plymouth Centre for Faith and Cultural Diversity

The Conference Chair will be Revd Kevin Tingay, Vice Chair of faithnetsouthwest and Inter Faith Adviser for the Diocese of Bath and Wells.

Face-to-Face and Side-by-side sets out core principles and some practical suggestions for ways in which faith groups and partners, including Local Authorities, can work better together. It announces the Faiths in Action funding programme, as well as funding for Regional Forums of Faith. It was launched in London in July, by Hazel Blears, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.
