Extended Description

The EDF Energy Trust Organisational Grant Programme is administered by Charis Grants Ltd and provided by the EDF Energy Trust. The scheme offers funding for charitable organisations to establish a money advice service that will assist in the alleviation of fuel poverty for people in EDF Energy operating areas.

The money advice service will run parallel to a programme that will give financial help to EDF customers in fuel poverty.

Successful projects should:

  • Provide free, holistic and impartial advice.
  • Provide assistance with budgeting and completion of the Common Financial Statement.
  • Where necessary, to help clients to solve their debt problems by themselves.
  • Provide advice so that clients can manage their money better in future.
  • Ensure that EDF customers receive appropriate assistance and, where necessary, referral onto the EDF Energy Trust fuel poverty program.
  • Improve quality of applications to the EDF Energy Trust.
  • Ensure that grant recipients remain free of energy debts.
  • Assist with applications to other relevant charities.
  • Raise awareness of how the trust can help.
  • Direct clients to relevant energy efficiency advice.
  • Collate monitoring statistics through the project as defined by the trust.
  • Serve as a local contact point for the trust.

Organisations are invited to become part of an integrated advice and support service that will reduce levels of energy debt across the UK.
