Voices and Influences Project

ViSTA have been working in partnership with:

  • Somerset Black Development Agency (SBDA);
  • CHYPPS
  • Mendip YMCA
  • Routes
  • Turning Point - Community Access Programme.

We have been working on all sorts of issues and skills development through interactive training sessions. We’ve been looking at things like:

  • Skills for representing communities
  • Issues that our communities face
  • Analysis of agencies to support people facing those issues
  • Who are the decision makers?
  • Analysis of how easy it is to influence them
  • Review of communication skills

We are carrying out action planning for the best ways we can influence the most relevant decision makers; especially for the services that matter most for the groups we are working with.

It has been an enjoyable and thought-provoking project so far – watch this space for more events and training sessions.
